Power light always off - seemingly.
This is really the tail end of another standard "how do I engineer reset my panel when I don't know the code or anything about this system or alarms in general" thread. I needed to relocate a PIR and a Panic Alarm switch because I'n doing some building work. Ron kindly helped me offline while my login became activated; wires detached, threaded through wall board and reatached and no sirens went off - and I know a bit about how my system works.
BUT...
I was very confused at the first step of removing power from the system, when there was absolutely no change on the panel. The Ron supplied manuals said that the power led should be flashing when the power failed and glow with the power back on. Mine was just off. The book said this means "the system is dead" , but it wasn't as it annoyed the neighbours when I tampered and user-reset ok etc.
Everything happily worked ok with the procedure to reset the engineer and user passcode to their installtion default.
BUT(again) ...I've since noticed that if I put in the engineer code (installer mode) or user code (set?), at that point the power light behaves; comes on normally AND flashes at power loss. Then it goes stubornly off again when installer mode or user mode ends.
Is this novel or normal - I am reading the manual wrong?
Its not a problem impacting my life, just an anomally.
