Hi all I hope some one can help me with my alarm.
On the keypad it says proSec 9651 but after some searching and reading on here,I think it is a scantronic 9651 with 9943 Keypad.
I've tried to set it and noticed the red spanner was lit up and lid tamp and no power flashing on the LCD screen, It will not set, so I thought battery but after replacing the battery, it's the same, I think I'm going to have the same problems as others on here with this alarm.any help please.
Thanks robfix

Conservatory detector

When the lean-to back addition was replaced by a conservatory the door contact wiring was cut back to the house wall / conservatory corner and a pir installed. This gave some false alarms and was replaced with a dual tech (older Rokonet iwise) device, which also gives random false alarms. Seting the device on chime pinpoints sunny afternoons as the culprit. I am sort of governed to its position so am wondering if there is another brand or device I could try.

Hi Guys,

My mum and dad have a gardtec 360/580 that came with the new build house they bought around 14 years ago. Today its been going off randomly and the message on the keypad screen seems to indicate a battery or fuse box fault. I was wondering whether anyone had the engineers manual for this alarm just in case I need to change the battery and therefore whatever engineers code is on there.

Any help much appreaciated.

Thanks

Gardtec 360-580 battery change

Hi All,

My parents have a gardtec 360-580 that is displaying an Fb sign indicating it requires a battery change. After reading the eng manual, it describes that if an eng code was set that begins with 9 then this cannot be reset without knowing the original code (I dont know if this is the case or not).

As I need to change the battery, I guess I am going to need the eng code to eng reset the system after removing the lid and changing the battery.

As the company that supplied the alarm to my parents house no longer exists am I screwed if I don't have this code, or is there some other way of doing it without needing it?

Any help much appreciated.

Converting DP to EOL

An apology if this has been asked before. System is Castle Euromini which is a recent replacement using the existing DP global tamper wiring. I am contemplating converting it all over to DEOL however my area of concern would be keeping the tamper circuit on my internal speaker. I'm thinking that it will probably need to be connected to a separate zone along the lines of a door contact but with a different resistor value combination to the rest of the contacts and pir’s. Am I on the right lines or is there another preferred way to do this?

Cooper 9561 with 9930 keypad - wont stop bleeping

Hi,

We had a powercut / surge a few weeks ago causing a number of alarms in the street to go off. Ours didn't go off, but the keypad is now driving us nuts. The Service LED is on and it keeps throwing a series of errors : Kxx too many keys pressed, Low Battery, Low Battery Rstr, and always says system reset required. Each of them result in the kepad bleeping going off.

keying in the code results in silence from 10 seconds to a day or so. At the moment - there is no relief from it - its driving us mad.

There is no engineer code (according to the hand-writing on the manual)

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers,

David.

Melcom ST8008 Faults in service or Installation

There have not been many failures to date, the pcb assembly of these panels are very well made.

1/ Dialer failed but no warning message. Simply no action either dialing out or picking up. Not fixable. Replace main pc assembly.

2/ Panel boots up but there is no keypad response, keypad shows “unconfigured”, a new keypad and a known good processor chip in the panel did not fix the problem. Not fixable. Replace main pc assembly.

3/ Installer code locked out, cannot access as system is “in use”. See hint 2/ and correct by system default.

4/ Installed code locked out, system persists in flagging “incorrect code”. Reset system to default to clear erroneous programming.

5/ Customer modem wont work. See hint 6/ above: Software and modems.

6/ Customer cannot default panel. Customer brain problem, will not let full procedure occur before removing J1 link or powering down. Allow 20 seconds for full reboot.

7/ Connection of the phone terminals to a phone line causes the ring tone to reduce or dissapear. A modem fault loads the line heavily. No fix found yet.

11/ Zone expansion board.

A zone expansion board does exist manufactured by Melcom model ESP-8ZE. When plugged onto the mother board this allows 8 more zones, total then 16 zones. The board is enabled by program in the number written on the board into PL70. The mode of the expanded zones is in PL21 to 28 and will have to be programmed as the default is 000001.

Installation Procedure for Melcom 6600

Introduction
This document is an overview of the steps to take to install your alarm system. You can install the system in a different order however our experience shows having one sector operational at a time is the least complicated method of ensuring a satisfactory installation. This also allows you to install the system over a few days or even weekends and still have some alarm protection. In the installation manual { page 11} there is a trouble shooting section to assist in identifying common problems however usually all problems stem from poor wiring connections, if you have a problem, always re-check the wiring.
1/ Check all components are supplied as specified by comparing with the parts list provided. The swivel brackets for mounting the PIR’s are kept inside the PIR housing.
2/ There are different instruction books for each of the components ie P.I.R. introduction manual, Remote Panel user manual, an installation instruction sheet plus an errata sheet. Note that the Main Panel Installation manual has the 6600 and 6100 panel described with various voltage inputs. Read all instructions that apply to the 17v ac plug pack and ST 6600 panel and be familiar with the way all components connect to each other.
3/ Draw a plan of the building where you are planning to install the alarm and determine the zones for the PIR sensors/reed switches and where you will install the remote panel. The main panel should be mounted near a power point or you should install a power point [by a qualified electrician] close to the main panel. Do this first as you cannot test the alarm circuitry without the power supply correctly installed.
4/ Install the main panel by following the instructions on page 2 of the Melcom main panel installation manual.
5/ Install the remote LCD keypad near your entry and exit point and connect to the main panel using the 6 core wire as per the instructions of the K6600 keypad instructions and page 9 of the Melcom main panel installation manual. Ensure you label the 6 core wire that enters the Melcom panel as REMOTE KEYPAD for easy identification.

6/ Connect the AC adapter and battery to the Melcom main panel and follow the instructions on page 3 of the Melcom main panel installation manual. If you have installed the wiring correctly the unit should illuminate on the LED remote panel red for power and yellow for day setting and a LED message should be visible. There is also an OMIT function, this allows you to OMIT a particular zone/area from being alarmed.
DO NOT ATTACH ANY MORE ITEMS TO YOUR MAIN PANEL UNTIL YOU PERFORM THE BASIC SYSTEM TEST AS DESCRIBED ON PAGE 2 OF THE MELCOM MAIN PANEL INSTALLATION MANUAL.
If the installation is correct and the panel and remote are performing correctly then you should see a message in the LCD display saying “System Ready Melcom”.
7/ Identify the colours on your 6 core wire Yellow,Blue,{tamper} Black, Red, {nc,c} Green, White{ -,+} and connect to the PIR in the correct order {see page 7 of the Melcom main panel installation manual and the corresponding PIR instruction sheet. The diagram on page 7 showing the PIR connection has a different layout to the PIR instruction sheet that is supplied with the kit. Please follow PIR wiring diagram supplied for the PIR and use the colour coding described on page 7 Melcom main panel installation manual.

Run the PIR wires to the entry /exit area. You will need to drill a hole in the rear of the PIR case to allow the wire to enter the cavity, the position of this entry hole is dependent on where the unit is to be installed. Attach a PIR or Reed switch to one end and the other should be connected to sector 1 inside the main panel and test as described. ENSURE YOU ATTACH A LABEL TO THE WIRE ENTERING THE MAIN PANEL WITH THE SECTOR NAME CLEARLY VISIBLE IE SECTOR 1 OR MAIN ENTRANCE. Sector 1 must be used for your entrance/exit area as it has a time delay built into the sector. If the power is connected correctly, the red LED inside the PIR should illuminate when movement is detected. Once this is completed you should then connect the tamper wiring and test again.
8/ Re-test this sector by using the code for the LED alarm panel arm/disarm, {1234}. Full instructions for setting the system are on page 14 of the Melcom main installation manual. Once this sector is performing correctly, you should then connect the next sector, one at a time installing and testing each one as you go. To assist the wiring of the Tamper loop, a terminal block {Jaycar part HM3196} with sufficient connectors for your number of components should be used to keep the wires in order. {See diagram on page 8 of the Melcom main panel instruction book}
Do not attach the PIR to the wall or ceiling until that sector is working correctly, removing the PIR from the swivel base once installed is difficult and can damage the plastic mounting pins.

Tamper Warning Scantronic 9751

The backup battery on my house alarm was low so I purchased a replacement and opened the unit to replace the battery.

Obviously I didn't get the tamper replaced correctly as when I turned the system on again it gives the following warning.

K01 Tamper - Reset Required

I phoned my alarm company and they quoted me £60 for someone to come and reset it. I'm sure from what I read on the forums this can be done by myself but can anyone talk me through it or provide the reset codes I will need once the tamper is reset.

Would hugely appreciate any help and guidance. Thanks in advance.

Scantronics 9800+ F6 code on 9827 cntl unit

hi folks new to the forum, moved to a new home (well old prewar bungalow) and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what an F6 code is on a Scantronics 9800+ alarm. This is being displayed on the 9827 keypad and does not allow me to reset. It is also sending off the internal sounder at intermittent intervals which is driving me and the neighbours nuts. I know that sensor 6 is a PIR sensor in the back lounge. Any help and advice appreciated.

PS I meant to ask as the system is over 12 yrs old, probably more is there any change of getting the engineering manual or programming manual for this? I have the user guide, but I'd like to understand the system a bit better and I'm not sure what the Night and Part portions of the alarm actually do.

I will be getting it replaced by an alarm company in the near future but at the moment other priorities are taking precedent.. thank you

Anyone any ideas?

Gardtec Anti-Code

Hello all,

We bought a property about 6 months ago with a Gardtec 370 installed and up until recently it has worked fine.

The problem is that every 2-3 weeks we require to contact the company who installed it for the past owner to obtain an anti-code so as to 'unlock' the alarm.

Also when the alarm is in working order it now makes the noise it would upon entering the property (when the alarm was set) before reverting to the normal 'setting' tone for a few seconds?

e.g. when working normally;

enter code>set alarm>box makes constant tone>open door to exit, tone changes to a beeping> exit the property, shut the door and and the constant tone returns-alarm set

How it is working now;

enter code>set alarm>tone that is normally heard when entering the property before disabling the alarm for 1-2 seconds>reverts to normal long tone>exit the property as normal.

Although it's not big problem to contact the company I would prefer it if the alarm could be reverted to it's full working state. I don't want to pay £90 for a service (but will if I have to) as money is a bit tight since we purchased so any help would be hugely appreciated.

The code it is displaying on this occasion is "0000"

Thanks in advance!

melcom st5000 to AG6

Hello and what a very informative site,so glad this is here and hopefully i can be helped out. Iv'e fitted a few alarms in the past,it isn't my normal job,just for family but things were easier a few yrs ago.
So, as above, melcom st5000, which is not using an extra key pad.I'm doing this is because of an attempt burglary only a fortnight ago at her house.
I have the manuals but not very good with things nowadays, quite forgetful,and need to get this done.

I believe i don't have the easiest panel to do but,it's what i bought so will have to stay with it. The AG6 MANUAL gives the info, ST- R- SW- V+ V-...........But the alarm box shows....TR- S- V+ V- ST-....... I can work out the changes but still need the wiring arrangement from the panel to the box, i see the st5000 isn't shown on here, with the wiring.
I have asked at another forum but been basically told to fookoff, i'm sure they are scared of giving advice for fear of other people taking their jobs!!! sad people.
Looking forward to help and advice, wishing you all the best, thanks, ray.

Wiring Help

Hi to All,

Can you help, i have re-installed an alarm for someone using existing equipment, VERITAS 8 panel and a pyronix belle. All working ok apart from the bell box. The original install was done in 4 core.....

When i opened bell box, micro switch Tamp wires cut and joined and a four core cable going to 4 terminals. Terminals in Bell are:

B- = Negative = Blue
B+ = Positive = Red
BA = Bell Trigger =
STB = Strobe Trigger =
BT = Tamper Return = Yellow
TF = Tamper Feed = Black

Nothing terminated for bell inside the control panel, Terminals on kit are:

A = Permanent Positive +12v
B = Switched Negative to Activate Sounder
C = Negative Tamper Return
D = Permanent Negative -0v
S = Switched Negative to Activate Strobe

Can you advise what wiring i need to what, i know somewhere i may need to double up or link out, as only 4 core used. was going to miss the strobe off and just have noise if easier

If i put a new bell box on i’ll be in same situ as most need at least 5 cores

Many Thanks
