Hi, i'm Luke, i'm 16 years old.

i've been interested in electronics from a very young age, and been interested in alarm systems for a few years now.

some of you may know me from FAE.

i started some work experience with a company that does fire, intruder, cctv, access control, and lighting amongst other things in September. they were very impressed with my existing knowledge and skills so offered me an apprenticeship which i'll be starting in june. until then, i'm continuing to do 'work experience' with them for two days a week.

i don't let problems go unsolved, if i can't find an obvious way to do something, i'll find a way to do it!

i also take pride in good systems and neat wiring.

Menvier TS2500

Hey Guys,

I have a Menvier TS2500, i have defaulted it and have 2 XNODES on it and 2 RKPS the problem i have is the panel cant seam to find the zones, it has found the 2 nodes but when i go in to the engineer menus under Program circuits i get invalid circuit i have looked through the other menus but nothing seams to enable these zones even if i go on to the invaild CCT and turn it "on" to final exit the panel still wont see the door contact or any other device on the CCT'S just wondering if you guys no if im missing something?

Intellisense PCB Bravo? C&K 700?

Hello

I am trying to find out more information about a PCB i have bought. The seller said it was a Honeywell Intellisense board and provided a PCB part number.
The board doesn't say Honeywell on it but it does say Intellisense.

I cannot find out the proper name of this panel, all I have found is one low resolution picture on a search engine

The picture comes up in an article by Nottingham council back in 1994 and the panels fitted back then were Intellisense 700l.

Now C&K did the 700l panel (white control panel with separate keypad) which looks nothing like the one I have although the beeps sound similar.

The PCB I have has an onboard keypad and LEDs which according to a thread on here suggests it is a Bravo 700l and apparently is the same as a C&K 700.

However using the engineering manual for a C&K 700l, the procedure for changing the second user code does not work and the procedure is slightly different to change the first code.

I can't get into engineering mode, when I enter the default engineering code, the internal sounder starts wailing for 15 seconds then stops, after which the panel has gone into some different mode as the normal user code now does nothing and I can't do anything with any settings.

There is a QC sticker with a year (i presume it is a year) 2007 even though the 700l model is over 10 years old.

Can anyone shed some light on this old or (new?) panel??

I have no manual for the above alarm which was fitted by previous owners. I had a fault last night and a few weeks ago when the system was beeping internally and the display said Fault (battery replaced Jan 2008). I noticed that the day and time is wrong but without a manual I have no idea how to change it and to figure out what caused the fault, could it be the battery again? Can you help?

My daughter recently moved into a house which had a Melcom ST6000 panel, she did not get the code from the previous owner. The alarm was set off when the power was cut off, how can I reset the code?.Can anyone please help.

Hi

I unset the alarm (it was set this morning using another user code) on returning home (using the manager code). Went upstairs and the alarm box (inside the house not the outside one) beeped twice. There is a PIR on the landing which I would have triggered. I checked the log and there was nothing after I unset it. I then pressed escape to get out of the log and then went upstairs again and it beeped twice (a bit like the walk test ). I have walked in front of that PIR again and the other ones and they're not making any beeps.

I've not had this happen before and wonder if anyone has any ideas

Hi,
we have a site with a 9ch DS2 DVR and keyboard fitted, 8 statics, one PTZ. - none of it installed by us.

we need to mask off some of the PTZ's view. every single PTZ i've come across so far has the option to do this digitally so i assume this one does too.
the PTZ is made by dedicated micros (DM), as is the DVR and keyboard but i'm unsure of the model no as its impossible to get to it without erecting a platform.

i couldn't even find a way to get into the cameras menu (assuming it has one) let alone program masking! is there a way to digitally mask areas, or will we have to put some gaffa in the housing (which would be a pain to do)?

I have an Accenta 6, ten years old worked fine. Has started setting the internal alarm off. Checked the key pads when i reset it and only the Tampa light is lit. Reset and all is fine for a few days. Got an alarm engineer out and had the battery changed. No difference the internal alarm goes off no apparent reason. Suspect it may be a voltage problem as twice it has gone off when the door bell was pressed, how strange is that? Cannot make it go off manually otherwise. Any idea's as it's not good at two o'clock in the morning....

Hi all I have a fault on my scantronic 9651.

Fault on scantronic 9651 saying "lid tamper active set" with orange steady light?
I have gone into my fault logs as my alarm won't set. When I scan my fob and press "C" to leave the house (how I normally set it) it comes up with a fault. The orange light is always on steady (! In a triangle) when I look in the log of faults it have 4 problems. 1, lid tamper active set, 2, battery missing inactive next, 3, a fault on a hall sensor inactive next, 4, lid tamper inactive next. My lid is on and shouldn't be causing. Fault. If anyone can help me clear the fault so I can set my alarm that would be great.

I have had the lid off to replace the battery as it was flat. Thanks.

Hello Peeps,

I'll make this short and sweet and hope someone can advise me.

Had a power cut yesterday, twice in fact!

House keypad panel now displays the letters "Ar" and the keypad refuses to respond.
I can't tell you what make or model the system is, just came fitted by justice alarms systems in brum. I've tried removing the fuse in the spur, though not changes or checked it yet.
Any clues as to what the error code is please? As Miss Moneypenny is fretting as we the alarm wont set.
