Abacus 8R Panic Button

Hi,

We have an old abacus system installed and the original engineer us no longer contactable. Although dated, the system is working without fault.

However, I would like to add an additional siren and also wire in a panic button. Does thus system support the addition if a panic button and if so, where on the board should it be wired to? Sand goes for extra siren - can this be split from the existing??

Managed to get hold of a user manual but can't get an engineers manual. Also, I obviously have the alarm code, but no engineers code etc. will I need this to install panic button and extra siren?

Any assistance appreciated. Thanks in advance.

help needed

Hi Guys,

I need some help with a Honeywell Accenta Mini G4 alarm panel, After wiring and programming i have noticed a problem, before that i will give you setup. Accenta mini G4, two keypads, two sirens reason 8, 5 honeywell pir, 1 risco pir, honeywell simple set reader with 4 fobs, honeywell informa dialler.
Software on Honeywell: Accenta Optima G4, Version 1.00, F140-01-101 Build 101 (01) Aug 30 2007

In manual it has a section immediate intruder zone.
Here it what it says "There is a zone which will, when enabled as used and then activated, go into alarm when panel is set. To assign a zone as immediate, remove the timed or timed inhibit function and make sure that it is enable in the used zones section.

Zone 1 is timed as used for entry / exit. I want zones 2-6 to be immediate on program 1 (p1) but i can only choose timed or inhibit when i set zone to inhibit it sets but when i trigger zone 2-6 no alarm is triggered and on unset a F meaning fault is displayed on that zone.
So to workaround i have set zones 2-6 as timed and reduced entry / exit to 10 seconds. However this means if an intruder breaks in nothing will happen till 10 seconds lapse.
Any ideas ?

Thanks

Scopetronic homeguard alarm system.

Hi All,
I have an scopetronic homeguard alarm system and it has started to give tamper faults. I know this is an old system now, but I would like to try and repair it before installing a new one. Has anyone got an engineers manual or panel wiring diagram for this type of alarm? I'm thinking of jumpering out the zones to isolate the problem.
Thanks.

Customer with 6 bloody cats!

As above, taken a job over which I wish I never bothered with lol
The system is pretty new, the installer abandoned ship after the customer started complaining about constant false alarms.

The panel is a Vertas R8+
Sensors are Petwise 3D.

As mentioned the customer has 6 cats in the house that roam around freely when the alarm is set. They usually trigger the kitchen and lounge PIR's which I expect its because they are jumping onto kitchen worktops, sofa etc.
I have set the PIR's to slow pulse count, and aligned the circuit board to gain the correct range position. Still a problem though.

The floor-to-ceiling height of all rooms are in the region of 2.5m, so not very high.

Any suggestions on how to tackle this problem?.... without having to remove all PIRS and fit shock sensors by the way, this customer is hard work.

Thanks

Our Scantronics 9448+ has been going off all night. The tamper light is on. I've entered our user code, the noise stops for 1 second then starts again. I'm in a rented house, the landlord doesn't have a clue and the phone number of the installer is no longer in use. Please help!

Scantronic 9800 reset?

$

Hi. I hope someone can help - I have a Scantronic 9800, installed by the previous house owner from a company who, it seems, no longer exists. My young child recently pressed the panic alarm switch and although the code I have stopped the alarm(!) I cannot reset the system. I see from the manual how to get a 4-digit 'control code' from the display but I don't know who I can ring to get the appropriate reset code. Is there a company (or anyone on the forum) that can advise me how to proceed?
Many thanks - Pete

Where to buy Guardall panel

$

Hello all,

I have recently installed a QX32i panel and five Guardall keypads into my house. The panel, I think has had it because on power up now, the keypads simply display 'PX rkp version 4.00'.... It originally began to count down from 15 on all keypads before alarming and allowing me to enter my code to reset/ get into the menus. But now, on each power up, the above px message is displayed and nothing else happens, my codes aren't acknowledged. So the only conclusion I can reach is that the panel is buggered. I tried to power up with link1 in place to default all settings but it still didn't work!

So I was wondering whether anyone had any suggestions and if the panel is no good, where I could buy another Guardall panel from, as no where on the net seems to sell them any more. I cannot remember which online seller I bought the panel from originally, I've had it a long time and have only just installed it. I'd consider another panel brand but I have five keypads for this one and am not willing to pay out for such a large number of other keypads.
The version number, I think, is 4.34 although I can check this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

9651 battery replace / reset - advice on setting up sensors

$

Hi all, this looks like a great place!

Basically I had two issues with a Scantronic 9651alarm which was connected to a single keypad.

1) the company who installed the alarm refused to reveal or reset the engineers code. I wouldn't expect them to reveal a standard number they use but to ask for a callout charge to do so was I think unreasonable. We had a couple of small babies in the house and wanted the internal sounders turned down a bit if possible!

2) the battery failed and needed to be replaced.

So, two birds with one stone. I've replaced the battery like for like and reset the panel as per the engineers manual. I can now enter as the engineer and user but as you can guess I need to figure out how to set up the various zones etc.

Strangely, the power lamp on the keypad initially didn't light up and on trying to set the alarm it reported there were open sensors or something like that and it would not set. I had a rummage on the forum here and when I tried it again this time, like magic, it will go through the motions of setting the alarm and now the power lamp on the keypad is glowing again for mains power....? All seems fine.

I wondered if anyone could advise me how to make sure I set up zones and sensors properly. There are simply 6 motion detectors and one keypad.

Please can someone help me. I returned from my holidays to find my alarm
completely dead. I've checked all the fuses and replaced the battery. When I did this the panel lit up
the power light started flashing. I left it
a while thinking it may be recharging the battery. But
all it did was drain it. so once again the panel
is lifeless. Please help !

Hi, I've got a Tate T-BK/8 alarm and lost the code and the kitchen refit has to remove the alarm and the tamper alarm is likely to go off. I believe there are resets achievable via the engineers manual but I can't find one on the web. Help please.
Thanks
